ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that it is important for future generations to change their lifestyle, youth should take the future of Pakistan into their hands, our government has made Pakistan green with the help of youth.
According to details, Prime Minister Imran Khan planted trees in the spring tree planting campaign. Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said that I pay tribute to Yen Aslam and the people of climate change, we are bringing a change on the ground and in thinking. It is important for future generations to change their lifestyle.
Imran Khan said that we have to think about the benefits and harms to our generations in the next 20 years, the harms of deforestation and deforestation are obvious in Lahore, Peshawar and Lahore were called Garden City and today in Lahore, Peshawar children are polluted. It’s very harmful to the elderly.
Referring to the rising pollution, the Prime Minister said that in Lahore, Karachi, and Peshawar, pollution reduces human life by 11 years. In the last 20 years, 70% of Lahore’s trees were cut down. Trees will be planted at 20 more sites in Abad.
He said that for the youth I say that this Pakistan is a gift of Allah, I have visited every corner of Pakistan, the whole world has also seen, Pakistan is a gift of Allah but we have not appreciated it yet.
Imran Khan further said that the youth should take the future of Pakistan into their hands. Our government has made Pakistan green with the help of the youth. The government can create an environment but in fact, the nation fixes its own future.
The Prime Minister said that there was a need for special courses in schools to create awareness about the environment. Due to climate change, the world’s climate is getting warmer. Unfortunately, Pakistan is one of the 10 countries that are most at risk from climate change.
He said that we need to plant trees and forests to save the future. Our government had earlier planted one billion trees in KP and now our target is to plant 10 billion trees in Pakistan.
Imran Khan said that organizations like WWF have audited one billion trees in KP itself. Planting of 10 billion trees has started from today. I also appeal to students to do their best to save the future, you will target schools.
The Prime Minister further said that the government of Pakistan would take all possible steps to make it greener. And more than 20 sites in Islamabad would be planted with Mewaki style forests.
