LAHORE: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Shahbaz Gul has said that Imran Khan will not resign nor will there be elections before 2023. The agenda of PDM is not the protection of national interests but only self-defense.
According to details, Special Assistant Shahbaz Gul called on Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar at Governor House. Political and government issues were discussed on the occasion. Governor Punjab and Shahbaz Gul advised PDM to wait for the 2023 elections. He said that elections will not be held before 2323.
The Special Assistant said that there will be no compromise on the eradication of corruption and transparent accountability, Imran Khan will not resign nor will there be elections before 2023. The agenda of the Opposition Alliance (PDM) is not the protection of national interests but only self-defense. The government will not be afraid.
Meanwhile, Governor Punjab said that the government will remain in power till January-February 2023. The resignations of PDM will not end the government but their assembly membership. The Prime Minister will not back down from transparent and impartial accountability.
He also said that the government is ensuring transparency and merit in the true sense of the word, the government will fulfill its responsibility to uphold the constitution and law, the people stand with the government’s statement, not the opposition.
