The second wave of coronavirus continues in Pakistan, but the number of cases and deaths has been reduced to some extent, however, the authorities are urging to take precautionary measures against the virus.
According to the official portal, the virus was confirmed in 1,947 people across the country in the last 24 hours, while another 59 people died, but the number of people who recovered in the last 24 hours was 1,903.
So far, the number of people infected with coronavirus in the country has reached 490,476, out of which more than 90% ie 444,360 patients have recovered while the number of deaths has reached 10,409. The number of cases dropped to 35,707.
It may be recalled that the first case of this global epidemic in the country was reported on February 26, 2020, and its spread reached its peak in June. However, the number of cases decreased from July and continued to improve till September.
In October and especially in November, the epidemic intensified again and the government again imposed a number of restrictions in addition to the closure of educational institutions, while in December the situation is worrying.

The worst-affected province in Pakistan is Sindh, where 855 more cases have been reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of people affected to 219,452.
According to official figures, the death toll from the global outbreak in Sindh has risen to 3,623 with 12 more patients dying.
In the last 24 hours, 679 new cases of corona have been reported in Punjab province, bringing the number of victims to 141,393.
However, 36 more patients died due to the epidemic in the province and thus the total number of deaths due to the virus in Punjab rose to 4,160.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, another 245 people were infected with the coronavirus, bringing the total number of victims to 59,729.
According to official figures, eight more patients died in the province due to the epidemic, bringing the death toll from the virus to 1,683 so far.
In the last 24 hours, 7 cases were reported in Pakistan’s largest province in terms of area, bringing the total number of cases to 18,254.
The death toll from the coronavirus in Balochistan did not increase and the total death toll remained at 185.
According to official figures, 132 more cases of the epidemic were confirmed in the federal capital Islamabad, bringing the number of affected people to 38,395.
No more patients have died from corona in the federal capital, leaving 428 dead.
According to the official website of Corona, the Corona epidemic in Azad Kashmir claimed 26 more lives, bringing the total number of victims in the valley to 8,383.
In Azad Kashmir, 3 more patients died due to the virus, bringing the total death toll to 229.
Three new cases of the epidemic were reported in Gilgit-Baltistan, bringing the number of affected people to 4,870.
However, no further deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours and the total death toll from the epidemic remains at 101.
Corona virus patients in Pakistan continue to recover and in the last 24 hours, another 1,903 people have been cured.
According to official figures, after the recovery of these patients, the total number has risen to 444,360.
